Search across the whole database
For a global search across the whole database, enter a search term and then click the search button (right). You can enter terms such as an author's name, part of a book title, etc. To do this type of search at any stage, use the global search option. Note: the searches use the exact terms you enter. For example: if you enter 'Charles Dickens' you will not get any results as it is stored in the database as 'Charles John Huffam Dickens'. If you do not get a result try widening the search by entering just the first name (Charles') or surname ('Dickens').
Results: after you have completed any search, the results are displayed on a Results page in a table format. You can click through to full details relating to the item. Note: click the icon to view the item in View mode or click the Title to view the item in Edit mode.
Diacritical marks: the searches are sensitive to exact characters and if your search includes diacritical marks (such as: ä é ç õ ê, etc.) you will need to include them in your search terms.
